THE POWER OF YOUR THOUGHTS

YOUR THOUGHTS FEEL VERY REAL FOR YOU BUT ARE THEY ACTUALLY TRUE

What if I told you that the average daily number of thoughts for a human is around 70,000.

It seems improbable, however most of those thoughts are in your sub-conscious and you are usually not even aware of them.

Most of these thoughts are beliefs you have carried in you your whole life and most of them are untrue and create disharmony for you.

What is known about these early beliefs is that they are part of what helped you in your childhood and may not necessarily be helpful to you now in adulthood.

Our brains are wired for survival and in childhood that means staying close to a primary caregiver. If this relationship is not one that is supportive or stable, the brain gives the message to the child that they perhaps are not good enough or are the source of the problem. A child can develop some very harmful beliefs as a result, and these get carried into adulthood creating unsupportive beliefs about worthiness and belonging.

Thankfully these beliefs, once identified can be modified and replaced with a healthier, more supportive understanding and story within the mind. This has the benefit of creating healthier relationship with the self as well as others.

Henry David Thoreau - ‘As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind.

To make a deep physical path we walk again and again.

To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over again the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.’
